About Emily

Emily is a clarinetist, bass clarinetist, and collaborative pianist based in the Omaha (Nebraska) area. She is active as a freelance performer and accompanist and runs a thriving studio of private clarinet and piano students.

Emily has a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Clarinet Performance from Arizona State University. She also completed a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Emily also holds a Master’s Degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has conducted research on administrative training for university faculty members in arts disciplines.

Emily grew up in Omaha and has traveled extensively across the US and the world as part of her musical studies.  Her background in two disciplines has given her the ability to examine issues from multiple perspectives, a vital skill in today’s increasingly diverse, globalized society.

AKME Duo Recitals

Emily will be performing as half of the AKME Duo with her friend and colleague Kelly Austermann. They will be featured at the National Association of Collegiate Wind and Percussion Instructors National Conference at the University of Northern Iowa on Saturday, October 12, and at the University of Iowa on Sunday, October 13.
